Middle grade readers are by far my most favorite age group to write for. They possess humor, they are curious, the world and experiences are new, and they enjoy the simplest of topics or extremely complex. Kids this age love to laugh, and I love to make them laugh. But I also like to make them think and that is what many of these books are intended to do. Think about the environment, think about nature, think about our impact on things around us and think about how we can possibly make a difference. And in the end, hopefully that thinking leads to action, and there are little Tree Huggers everywhere!
